Charly Musonda has given his thoughts on the exceptional reception he was given by fans at Celtic Park on his debut last night.
The Hoops’ new loan signing put pen to paper on a deal with the Scottish champions that will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2018/19 season.
He immediately went into Brendan Rodgers’ squad for their game against Hearts last night and came off the bench after 60 minutes to give fans a glimpse of what to expect.
The crowed made him feel particularly welcome too.
As quoted by Celtic’s website, the Belgian said:
The crowd at Real Betis was good but it doesn’t compare to what I experienced yesterday. It was unbelievable to get such a reception. It was great. It was amazing to play here in front of the fans for the first time at Celtic Park and I got a wonderful reception. I didn’t think it would be that loud. It shows how much they care about me already and I’m really grateful for that. I look forward to playing more games at Celtic Park.

The 21-year-old also gave his reasons as to why he made the move to Scotland from Chelsea:
Once I heard Brendan Rodgers was at Celtic and that Celtic wanted me, it was a no-brainer. Brendan Rodgers being the manager here was quite important to my decision. I spoke with him and I know how good he’s been with young players, especially here.I have a manager now who has developed a lot of good players. This is perfect, Celtic is a big club and has a good manager as well. Celtic is a team that needs to win and, as a youngster coming from a team like Chelsea, it’s the same type of pressure. I’m at a big club now and I’m really happy to have the opportunity to be at a big club like Celtic at 21 years of age and to be able to play here is a dream for me.
The former Anderlecht player, who can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder, will be sure to add quality and entertainment to Rodgers’ team.
If last night is anything to go by, fans will be more than satisfied with having him here for 18-months.
