Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers has thanked the club’s board for their help and support during a somewhat difficult transfer window.
The Irishman was very happy that he managed to get promising youngster Jack Hendry through the doors at Celtic Park and believes that he will be a “top-class defender”.
Speaking to the BBC, he said
I think [Hendry’s] potential is huge. That’s what I said to the board when I first saw him play, ‘this is a player I think can be a big player’. When you come to Celtic you have to deal with expectation and pressure. If he can deal with all those things then you’ve got a Scottish centre-half who has all the attributes of a top-class footballer.
Rodgers also wanted to thank those upstairs at the club for allowing his deals throughout the window to happen, including the deadline day signing of Scott Bain on loan.
Today, I have to say a big thank you to Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell and the board at Celtic. January was going to be an important month for us and everything I asked for, I was able to get.
The month saw the arrivals of Scott Bain on loan from Dundee, Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig, Jack Hendry from Dundee and Lewis Morgan from St Mirren.
Meanwhile, Scott Allan and Liam Henderson left the Scottish Champions for Hibernian and Serie B side Bari, respectively.
