Crystal Palace reportedly failed with a late attempt to sign Celtic star striker Moussa Dembele on transfer deadline day, according to the Croydon Advertiser.
It is believed that Roy Hodgson made an enquiry about the possibility of signing for Celtic, but before he was able to make an offer, it was made clear by the Hoops that the Frenchman was NOT for sale.
Celtic reportedly told the London based club that as Leigh Griffiths, still hunting for his 100th Bhoys goal, is out for up to a month with an injury, Dembele would certainly not be going anywhere.

Dembele recently scored his first Hoops goal since the 2-0 League Cup Final win over Motherwell, in the 3-1 win over Hearts at Celtic Park on Tuesday night.
Throughout the transfer window, the young French striker has been linked with moves to both M23 derby teams, Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion.
Chris Hughton had claimed interest in Dembele, but it seemed more likely that he would be at Selhurst Park by the end of January.
Crystal Palace did end up getting a striker in the shape of Alexander Sorloth from FC Midtjylland.
