A man of the match performance from Youssouf Mulumbu at Rugby Park saw Celtic miss the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table to 14 points.

Celtic started the game brightly but injuries to Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer in the first half due to the horrendous playing surface disrupted their flow as they struggled to create any chances from open play.

Olivier Ntcham came closest to scoring for the Hoops from a free-kick on 38 minutes as he fired his effort just inches over the crossbar.

Less than 60 seconds later the home side had the best chance of the half as Jordan Jones turned Scott Brown inside the box.

However his rushed shot went straight at Dorus de Vries and after some less than convincing defending Greg Taylor fired a shot into the side netting.

Mulumbu opened the scoring on 68 minutes from close range after losing his man at the back post.
