Callum McGregor insists Celtic are having a great season
Callum McGregor believes that Celtic are still having a great campaign in 2017/18, even though they might not have lived up to the standards they set last season.
Celtic went unbeaten domestically in 2016/17, winning three trophies along the way. Despite the fact that Brendan Rodgers’ side have lost two domestic games already this season, McGregor says that the club are still in a fantastic position.
As reported by the Daily Record, he said:
We are still sitting favourites in the league and we have a decent margin as well to play with. We won the [Betfred] Cup, we are in the last 32 of the Europa League and have been beaten twice. We won’t get too carried away talking about defeats.
There have been a few negative things said about Celtic in the past few days since the defeat to Kilmarnock but McGregor says that the squad won’t pay much attention to that as they know that they’re on course to end the season with plenty more silverware.
We have been beaten twice in 100 games or something like that. So it is important for us that we stay positive and not listen to the criticism that comes our way. If you look at this season on its own, it’s still been a great season.
