Scott Allan has admitted that he is unsure if he has a long-term future at Celtic and says that the decision about where he’ll be playing next year will be Brendan Rodgers’ to make.
Speaking to the Evening Times, Allan, who is currently on loan at Hibernian, said that he is focusing on performing for his current side and that it will be up to Rodgers to decide if he wants him involved next year.
The 26-year-old put in an excellent display as Hibs defeated Aberdeen 2-0 and afterwards, Allan was asked about his future.
He said:
As for what happens at Celtic, whether the door can open for me, that’s something you’d need to ask the manager there. I just want to focus on what happens at Hibs until the end of the season then take it from there.
Allan was then asked if he thinks he has the ability to play at the top level with Celtic, playing in European competitions etc.. and he is confident that he would be able to cope with the demands of playing for the Scottish champions if given the chance.
I believe so. In terms of creativity, Aberdeen had a guy following me about the park for the first 45 minutes and I still made things happen. That’s my game and I can play it as well as anybody.
