Zenit St. Petersburg goalkeeper Andrei Lunev says that Celtic will be blown away by the atmosphere at the Krestovsky Stadium when the two sides meet in the second-leg in their Europa League tie on Thursday afternoon.
The roof will be closed at the stadium with temperatures set to plummet to as low as -15 and Lunev Says that the noise generated inside the enclosed venue will be too much to Celtic to handle.
He said:
Celtic Park was a wonderful stadium with an incredible atmosphere. It was just a shame about the result. But it will be a different atmosphere at out place with the roof closed. Celtic will be under our cloak this time! There is always a great atmosphere when the roof is shut. Now it is our fans’ turn to make the noise.
Usually it is Celtic bragging about their home advantage as plenty of Europe’s top sides have visited Celtic Park and been affected by the noise and atmosphere but Lunev thinks that the shoe will be on the other foot on Thursday.
Brendan Rodgers’ men know that if they can keep a clean sheet in Russia, then they’ll be in the draw for the last 16 of the competition.
