Kieran Tierney: I’d have loved to have played alongside Bobo Balde

In an interview with Celtic’s sponsors Dafabet, left-back Kieran Tierney declared former Celtic centre-back Bobo Balde as his ideal teammate.

Balde played for Celtic for eight years and is known as one of the best centre backs that the Scottish league has seen in recent years.

Whilst with Celtic, the Guinean international won five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups. He was also in the Celtic squad that reached the UEFA Cup final under Martin O’Neill.

Bobo made 232 appearances in green and white for Celtic, scoring sixteen goals. His dedication to the team whilst on the pitch, as well as his ferocity, made him a fan favourite in his time at Celtic Park.

It is understandable why Tierney chose Balde as his fafourite Celtic player. After all, he is a defender just like Balde was, and the Celtic defence could be much better if Bobo was still in his prime playing for them.

If I had one footballer as a teammate I’d pick Bobo Balde . He was my favourite player growing up and he was my hero so I would go for him.

Celtic’s defence has been very questionable at times this season, with most of the centre-backs receiving some sort of criticism at some stage this season and the fans would love somebody like Balde as part of their back four
