Celtic are lining up a move for Barnsley right-back Andy Yiadom, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Yiadom’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s rejected their offer of an extension, meaning he’ll be available on a free transfer in the summer.
According to the report, Celtic scouts watched the 26-year-old in action on Tuesday as Barnsley drew 1-1 with Norwich City, with Yiadom providing the assist for the home side.
Mikael Lustig’s recent struggles have reportedly led to Brendan Rodgers making signing a new right-back one of his top priorities in the summer and Yiadom fits the bill.
A number of other clubs, including Swansea City, have bee linked with moves for the defender, so Celtic will need to beat a few clubs to his signature.
The Ghanaian international has played in 24 games for Barnsley this season and they are still hoping that he’ll decide to stay.
