Leigh Griffiths eyeing up 100th Celtic goal

Leigh Griffiths is eyeing up his century of Celtic goals, but sees it as secondary to winning the league title, as per Celtic Football Club.

The 27-year-old currently sits on 97 goals in just shy of 200 appearances for the Hoops since joining in 2014 from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He has been out with a calf injury, one which as kept him out of the team sheet since late January, but the Scottish international returned in the 3-0 win over Ross County, coming on as a substitute for Moussa Dembele.

He now has his sights set on making as many appearances as possible for Celtic until the end of the season and getting those three goals to give him the landmark achievement.

His last goal was the winner in the 1-0 home win over Hibernian, his boyhood club, at the end of January.

Griffiths has also said he wishes to do the double treble, winning all three domestic honours in two consecutive seasons.

The striker said:

Obviously you want to reach the target. I’m fully fit and feeling really good. I’m having no problems so if the manager decided to throw me in I’m raring to go. I knew from the start of the season I would have a good chance of hitting the 100-goal mark so that’s my next target, to hit that by the end of the season. But getting that league title is the priority, obviously.
