Celtic moved to within three points of the league title with a routine 2-1 win over 10-man Hamilton, thanks to goals from Callum McGregor and a returning Leigh Griffiths to cancel out Rakish Bingham’s equaliser.
The Champions elect made the perfect start as McGregor found the bottom corner after just three minutes.
After a comfortable opening to the game, Celtic found themselves pegged back as Bingham found his way in behind to slot past Bain for 1-1.
It seemed the visitors had taken their foot off the gas as the half went on but were handed the advantage in the game as Darren Lyon was sent off for two bookable offences.
At half time, Brendan Rodgers gambled with Griffiths coming on for defender Jack Hendry and this paid off just a minute into the second period as the striker headed home a delightful cross from Scott Sinclair.
Celtic failed to add to their goals despite having the bulk of possession but saw out the game to take a professional but unspectacular victory.
Here’s how we rated the players after the game.
Scott Bain 6.5/10
A quiet but comfortable display from Bain who has given Rodgers a selection headache ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers next week.
Jack Hendry 6.5/10
Looked very calm on the ball and was solid in defence whilst pushing forward when needed.
Was unlucky to be taken off at half time but bringing on a second striker made sense against 10 men.
Kristoffer Ajer 5/10
Caught out for the Hamilton goal as he was too square for the ball in behind him.
Struggled in this game with the battle up against Bingham but was more comfortable in the second half.
Dedryck Boyata 5/10
Had little to defend over the course of the match but like Ajer struggled in the air against the Hamilton attack.
Patrick Roberts 7/10
Returned for his first start since November last year, and added quality when cutting in from the right and linked up well with McGregor in particular.
Scott Brown 6/10
Another comfortable afternoon for the skipper who did nothing more or less than required.
Oliver Ntcham 6/10
A fairly quiet game for the Frenchman who saw more and more of the ball as the game progressed.
Had a couple of decent attempts from long-range.
Kieran Tierney 7/10
Added an extra dynamic down the left side and attacked well while also fulfilling his defensive duties.
Moved into a back-three at half time with the introduction of Griffiths.
Callum McGregor 7.5/10
Opened the scoring with a great low strike that kissed the post on its way in before drawing a good save from Ryan Fulton in goals.
Was creative throughout and linked the attacking play together.
Scott Sinclair 5/10
Only real contribution was a lovely dinked cross for Griffiths’ winner after a poor first half.
Could see his place in danger if he doesn’t find form soon.
Moussa Dembele 4.5/10
Missed a great chance right from kick-off after a Hamilton mistake.
Went missing for large parts of the game and was replaced by Odsonne Edouard midway through the second period.
Leigh Griffiths 6.5/10
Replaced Hendry at half time as Celtic went for two up front.
Immediately showed his quality as he headed past Fulton and into the bottom corner after just a minute on the field.
Odsonne Edouard 5/10
Came on for Dembele on 68 minutes but struggled to have any real impact.
Charly Musonda N/A
Replaced Roberts for the final five minutes but needs to be given far more game to show his talent.
