Fernando Torres likely to move to China or the USA

Fernando Torres has said that he will leave Atletico Madrid in the summer at the end of the season, and although he is being linked with a move to Celtic, Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague says he isn’t likely to move to Scotladn, as per Sky Sports News.

Torres has been linked to many clubs, including Newcastle United, where he would be returning to England to play under his former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

The former  Chelsea forward has scored seven goals in La Liga this season for his boyhood club, mostly when coming off the bench.

At 34 years old, he has a few years  left and can offer services and experience to a whole host of clubs, many of which would not turn him down.

However, although he has been linked to Celtic, Balague says that he is likely to go to either China or the United States to play out his career.

He said:

Of course, (Torres) says he wants to play for another two, three, five years and the United States or China would be the next step. His kids speak English, so perhaps it is time to learn Chinese which he can offer to his siblings with a few years in the Far East.
