Celtic will send a squad to take part in a pre-season tournament at the home of South Shields towards the end of July.
The Daily Record report that Premier League outfit Southampton and French giants Marseille will also feature in the competition.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to send mostly fringe players and youngsters given the fact the tournament falls during the time of the Champions League playoffs.
The tournament is also just a week before the start of the Scottish Premiership season.
South Shields, who play in the Northern Premier League, will complete the four-team lineup, and chairman Geoff Thompson said:
To attract clubs of the size of Celtic, Marseille and Southampton to Mariners Park is a massive coup for the club and I’m sure it will generate a lot of excitement with our supporters.
We also look forward to welcoming supporters of each of the three clubs to Mariners Park, where there is sure to be a friendly atmosphere which all of the family will enjoy.
The Bhoys have already announced pre-season dates against Shamrock Rovers on July 7 and Standard Liege on July 14.
The tournament will take place between Friday 27 July and Sunday 29 July, and South Shields have already released ticket details on their website.
