There seem to be a lot of conflicting reports regarding the fee that Celtic must pay to sign striker Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal but, according to the print version of The Herald, the Scottish champions are set to pay £10m for the Frenchman, and a deal could be done in the very near future.
The 20-year-old scored 11 goals in 29 appearances for Celtic during his loan spell from Paris Saint Germain and it seems like all parties involved; Celtic, PSG and the player himself, are keen for the loan to become a permanent move.
It had been reported that it would cost around £7m for Celtic to keep Edouard, but The Herald report that the amount will be closer to the £10m range.
As it stands, Celtic’s record in terms of the highest transfer fee they’ve paid out is £6m, an amount which they forked out twice, on John Hartson and Chris Sutton, respectively.
Edouard, if the deal goes though as expected, will leapfrog the two former strikers and become the most expensive player in the history of Celtic Football Club.
