Abel Hernandez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic this summer, has reportedly declined an opening offer from Galatasaray.
The striker’s contract at Hull City reached its expiry date recently, therefore meaning that he is now available to move elsewhere on a free transfer.
Plenty of clubs have expressed an interest in recruiting Hernandez following his departure from the KCOM Stadium and among the interested parties, Celtic are named.
However, it seems Galatasaray were the first to make their move for Hernandez, with Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato claiming that the 27-year-old regards the terms offered by the Turkish giants to be insufficient.
This means that Hernandez is, of course, still up for grabs. Celtic are still named as a potential destination for the Uruguayan forward, but competition for his signature will be intense.
Serie A duo Fiorentina and Torino are also named as potential suitors for Hernandez in the report, further indicating that Celtic will need to fend off high-quality opposition for the player’s signature.
