Celtic will get their season underway on Tuesday afternoon when they face Armenian side Alashkert in their first Champions League qualifier.

It seems like just yesterday when Brendan Rodgers’ side were wrapping up a second consecutive domestic treble, but already, the 2018/19 campaign is underway.

Celtic will be huge favourites to qualify but Alashkert have won their domestic league for the last three seasons and will be looking to spring an upset if the Boys aren’t on their game.

Here’s the latest Celtic team news ahead of the game:

Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Tom Rogic will not feature as they are recovering from their involvement in the World Cup, whilst Dedryck Boyata is still on international duty with Belgium.

Celtic captain Scott Brown will have a late fitness test after he was forced to come off at half-time during the 7-0 friendly win over Shamrock Rovers due a knee issue.

Meanwhile, striker Leigh Griffiths and defender Marvin Compper will take any part in the game having missed Saturday’s friendly at Shamrock Rovers.
