Celtic are set to re-sign Emilio Izaguirre on a free transfer, one year after he left the club, as per the BBC.
The 32-year-old signed a two-year contract at Saudi Arabian side Al-Fayha last summer but the club and player have come to an agreement that has seen him that deal, allowing him to become a Celtic player once again.
The 32-year-old will provide cover for Kieran Tierney, with Brendad Rodgers keen not to overplay his star defender over the course of the long season.
Izaguirre spent seven years at Celtic in his first spell at the club, featuring in over 250 games for the club. He won six league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups in his first spell at Celtic Park and he’ll be hoping to add more medals to his collecetion this season.
His best season at the club came in 2010/11, when he was voted as the SPFA, SFWA and SPL Player of the Year.
