Celtic’s slim hopes of re-signing Patrick Roberts appear to have been dashed away from them, with the winger heading to La Liga.
According to reports in Spain, the player will join Manchester City’s sister side Girona on loan, with the player expected to arrive in the coming days ahead of completing a move.
The La Liga side, who are part-owned by City are able to loan players from the Premier League champions and already have Brahim Diaz and Aleix Garcia at the club.
Roberts has been heavily linked with a move away from City this summer following the arrival of Riyad Mahrez.

It had been suggested that he could be offloaded to Leicester City as part of the deal to bring Mahrez to the Etihad.
While Roberts himself admitted he would not be returning to the Hoops, there was still believed to be some hope by those in and around the club that he could return to Celtic.
