Celtic leading chase for Manchester City’s Jason Denayer
Celtic are reportedly still leading the chase for defender Jason Denayer despite interest from Turkey.
Nieuwsblad, via TurkishFootball are reporting that the defender could be on his way to Celtic Park, with the Hoops edging the chase for the defender. Reports in Belgium from Nieuwsblad also say that Torino and Galatasaray are still in the race.
The Manchester City defender is likely to leave the club, with first-team football at the Etihad looking like a big ask.
The defender is reportedly keen on a move back to Turkey however, which could dent the prospect of any move to Celtic.
Denayer could become an instant replacement for Dedryck Boyata, who looks increasingly likely to leave the Hoops this Summer. The Belgian stayed away from Celtic’s defeat in the Champions League qualifiers, with the Hoops crashing out of Europe at the hands of Greek Champions AEK Athens.
