Greig Spence was left on the sidelines for three weeks following a nasty collision with Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
The striker has revealed that Gordon went out of his way to cover the player’s wages during the time he was out of action.
The incident took place back in September 2016. Gordon was booked after coming out of goal and tackling Spence with a high-footed challenge.
The nasty challenge left Spence unable to play, but in a report by the BBC, the striker spoke of his appreciation for the goalkeeper’s brilliant gesture.
I was off work for three months after this challenge but Craig Gordon covered my wages I lost so I forgive him.
This follows claims from Gordon himself seeking further clarity about the disciplinary system and potential punishments players should be receiving.
The goalkeeper himself has expressed his concern at how he only got away with a yellow card for the ‘karate-kick’ tackle.
