Brendan Rodger has expressed his delight after seeing his Celtic side book a place in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday night.
As reported by the BBC, Rodgers explained that the victory would be good ‘psychologically’ for the squad, who have endured a tough start to the season.
We scored one and could’ve had maybe one or two more. The keeper’s made some fantastic saves but we got ourselves in the next round so I’m very pleased.
Psychologically, it’s a very good win for us. We’re into the semi-finals. Whoever you get, it’s always going to be a tough game.

The Hoops have already lost twice in the league, which has sparked claims of a divided dressing room and concerns over Rodgers’ long-term future at the club.
However, the single goal from Leight Griffiths against St Johnstone will see the club head into this weekend’s game against Aberdeen in high spirits.
The club will play Hears for a place in the final of the competition.
It was not all good news for Celtic on Wednesday night, with Dedryck Boyata sent off and Kristoffer Ajer suffering what has since been confirmed as a hamstring injury.
