Brendan Rodgers has revealed that striker Odsonne Edouard could be fit for Celtic’s tie with Red BullĀ Salzburg after he picked up an injury in Saturday’s win over Aberdeen.
The Frenchman was subbed off after a huge challenge from Celtic summer target Scott Mckenna gave the striker a dead leg.
Brendan Rodgers was disgusted that play was waved on as Edouard lay down injured, with McKenna going unpunished for the challenge.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers said, via the Daily Record:
It was a very reckless challenge I have to add. When you see the challenge back, I don’t think it was a penalty as it’s just outside the box.
But when a centre half comes across like that and jumps off the floor that high with two feet then catches the player high up on his thigh – which he has the marks to prove – then it’s a clear foul.
When asked about the striker’s injury, Rodgers revealed that there is a possiblity that the striker could appear against Salzburg in the week, but it depends if the striker could run off the injury.
Rodgers said:
We will have to see, it was a dead leg.
So a dead leg sometimes you can run off but if it’s a deeper pain than that then it’s difficult.
Hopefully he should be okay for Thursday.
