Celtic are eager for a ballot draw to take place in order to decide which Scottish League Cup semi-final has to move to Murrayfield, if the current plans to play both matches at Hampden are disregarded, the BBC reports.
It is revealed that Celtic have written to the SPFL to request that their semi-final match against Hearts is not the fixture whose venue is automatically switched to Murrayfield.
With both matches currently arranged to be played at Hampden, the league body is considering moving Celtic’s game to Scotland’s home of rugby – Murrayfield – in Edinburgh to be played on Sunday 28 October, whilst Rangers’ meeting with Aberdeen remains at Hampden.
The SPFL is believed to have already held initial discussions with Scottish Rugby about using Murrayfield as a semi-final venue and they are currently planning further talks with the Scottish FA, Police Scotland and the four clubs over whether to go ahead with playing both ties at Hampden on the same day.
