Brendan Rodgers has been warned about the next step he takes after Celtic by former Hoops player Peter Grant, amid links to Aston Villa.
As reported by BT Sport, Grant explains there are only a few clubs around that could be considered a step up from Celtic, hinting that Aston Villa may not be one of them.
Grant draws on the level of expectation of the club and the history of Celtic when describing why a move to Aston Villa may not be such a good idea for the former Liverpool man.
But there is a big expectation, wonderful club with a big fan base, facilities and stadium are magnificent, second to none. It is a big attraction for anyone.
I can understand 100 per cent people being interested in Brendan, there is no doubt about that. But Celtic is a massive club and there’s not many places you can go when you leave Celtic and still be at a big club.
Rodgers was heavily linked with a move to the Championship side, with reports claiming that an approach could be made, but that no longer appears to be the case.
Despite a tricky start to the season, Rodgers is expected to continue at Parkhead, with the Hoops going in search of another Scottish Premiership title.
