Celtic want Lennon to replace Rodgers says Nicholas
Celtic want to re-hire Neil Lennon when Brendan Rodgers leaves the club, according to former Hoops player Charlie Nicholas.
Writing for the Daily Star, as cited on the Scotsman, Nicholas explains that he believes those behind the scenes at Celtic want to bring Lennon back to the club, despite it not being a move that he personally would agree with.
There are some inside Parkhead who see Neil Lennon as a live candidate to replace Brendan Rodgers when the time comes for him to move on.
I can’t see it happening. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have huge admiration for Lennon as a boss. I love the way he wears his heart on his sleeve and demands the same from his players. Celtic have been warned.
Rodgers was heavily linked with the Aston Villa job recently and also attracted interest from English clubs over the summer.
While an exit is not considered imminent, there is a growing feeling at the club that the former Liverpool boss will leave for pastures news at some stage in the not too distant future.
