James Forrest should be having serious thoughts about his place in the Scottish national team.
That’s according to former Celtic striker John Hartson, who believes the winger has every right to be disappointed with his lack of involvement in the national side.
Writing for the Evening Times, Hartson questioned why the player was not starting against Israel.
I mean, what else do you have to do to get into the team? If you score four goals and are one of the best players in the country but can’t get a start for a game against Israel then I think you might be tempted to go and have a think about the situation.

Forrest was named on the bench for the game and did not come on until just after the hour mark.
The winger has been in tremendous form for Celtic this season, scoring four goals in the Hoops’ 6-0 demolition of St Johnstone earlier this month, taking his tally for the new campaign to six in all competitions.
Forrest signed a new deal earlier this season and has been playing full of confidence under Brendan Rodgers.
The concerns over Forrest’s position topped off what has been a disappointing international break for Scotland, with the relationship between Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths and Alex McLeish also dominating the headlines.
