Celtic fans are set to enter the history books this weekend.
Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-final, now controversially being held at Murrayfield, could see the biggest attendance at a Scottish match for 29 years.
Celtic fans have snapped up their 30,000 allocation – as was expected – and the Jambos are very close to selling out too.
Add to that sponsor and corporate seats that will naturally be filled, the final figure of fans attending on Sunday could hit 67,000.
That would be the largest crowd to watch a game in Scotland for nearly 30 years, since the Scottish Cup final in 1989 between Celtic and Rangers.

That day, just over 72,000 people witnessed Joe Miller net the only goal of the game to bag a win for the Bhoys.
It will be nowhere near the biggest ever domestic game in Scotland, however, which occurred at Hampden in 1937 in a match between Celtic and Aberdeen. That particular clash drew 147,365 people to the ground – a European club record!
Whether you agree or not with the relocation of the fixture to Murrayfield, the added attendance will undoubtedly make the atmosphere special. Now the Hoops need to go and do the business…
