Brendan Rodgers says Celtic’s home game with RB Leipzig is a must win

Brendan Rodgers says that he’s seen enough from RB Leipzig to know that Celtic can defeat them when the two sides meet at Celtic Park in two weeks’ time.

As reported by the BBC, Rodgers admitted that his side must defeat the Germans at home to have a realistic chance of progressing to the Europa League knockout stages but said he’d seen enough to know that Celtic can win the game.

He said:

I’ve seen enough to know we can win at home. We know that if we’re going to have any aspirations of coming out of the group then it’s a game we have to win.

Not for the first time, Celtic’s defending let them down as a second-string Leipzig side took full advantage by scoring twice in a four-minute spell in the first half.

Rodgers said that he did take some positives from the game, even though the defending wasn’t all that good, and insisted that his side can defeat the Germans at Celtic Park.

We’re still in with a great chance. We knew our home games were going to be vital. We have to look to win next time and, if we don’t, it is really difficult.
