Hearts striker Steven MacLean has pulled no punches in comments made about Celtic’s trip to play RB Leipzig.
With Sunday’s League Cup semi-final pitting Hearts and Celtic against one another, MacLean was offering his thoughts on the Hoops’ midweek trip to Germany.
Quoted by the Scotsman, MacLean said:
Hopefully they [Celtic] get pumped [against Leipzig] and lose a bit of confidence and we’ll see what happens on Sunday…
The forward is well-placed in his hope that Celtic might lose confidence, with Brendan Rodgers’ side showing stunning form in recent weeks, having scored ten goals in their last two Scottish Premiership matches.

The former Rangers striker MacLean went on to say:
We’ve beaten Celtic already this season so there’s no reason why we can’t do it again. Obviously they’ve picked up since then and scored ten goals in their last two games. But we’ve got belief.
Needing a positive result to stay in their Europa League group, Celtic will then attempt to book their place in the League Cup final on Sunday, where they would face either Rangers or Aberdeen.
