Celtic return to Europa League action this Thursday where they’re set to face RB Leipzig at Celtic Park.
The Hoops suffered a 2-0 defeat two weeks ago to the German side, though fans are hopeful of a much better outcome this time around.
Since that loss, Brendan Rodgers’ side have played three domestic games: A 3-0 victory over Hearts to book their place in the League Cup final, a 5-0 thrashing away to Dundee and yet another 5-0 win; this time over Hearts a home.
They are edging closer to retaining their lead at the top of the Premiership table, which has supporters hopeful of putting in a good performance this Thursday night.
Leipzig currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga and second in Group B of the EL table, meaning Celtic need to get some sort of result to keep any hopes alive of progressing further.
Here is our Celtic predicted XI for Thursday’s fixture.
Craig Gordon
Has appeared in all three group games so far. Will make it four on Thursday.
Mikael Lustig
Has worn the Captain’s armband for the past three games in a row and put in some decent performances on a good run of form. Will lead the team out again again this week.
Filip Benkovic
The loanee has slotted into the starting eleven as if he’s been around for years. Looks comfortable alongside Boyata and adds some much needed maturity to the back line.
Dedryck Boyata
Has formed a strong partnership with Benkovic. No doubting he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
Kieran Tierney
Will look to put in a shift as always.
Callum McGregor
Played in the ‘Scott Brown role’ at the weekend and never looked out of his comfort zone. His versatility and range of passing could prove to be key on Thursday.
Ryan Christie
A player who has proved many wrong since coming into the team. Has three goals in his last three games and looks set to make his second start in the group stages.
James Forrest
Will start on the right-wing and look to cause problems.
Tom Rogic
The silky attacking midfielder always seems to have a goal or two in him. When he finds space in the final third there’s very few who can stop him.
Scott Sinclair
The 29 year-old has found some form recently having scored two in his previous three matches. Hopefully he can maintain it.
Odsonne Edouard
Bagged a 20 minute brace at the weekend. Good timing given this Thursday’s important match. If he can make use of his chances then goals may come their way.
