James Forrest is currently one of the best wingers in world football, according to former Celtic man Paul Slane.
Speaking on the Open Goal podcast, as cited by the Scotsman, Slane explains that Forrest’s recent purple patch for Celtic means he is among the best players in the world when looking at current form.
Since signing a new long-term deal with the club, Forrest has enjoyed a brilliant run of form under Brendan Rodgers.
When quizzed on the player’s form, Slane revealed just how highly he rates the player, “one of the best players in the world. He’s that good,” said the ex-Celtic man.

Slane would go on to be asked about much Forrest is worth in today’s market.
Van Dijk went for £12 million so I would say £12 million, because he’s at Celtic. But I think he’s that good, honestly. I think he’s such a special player.
The 27-year-old has scored nine goals in all competitions for Celtic this season, four of which came in one game.
Forrest put four goals to his name during the 6-0 demolition job over St Johnstone back at the start of October.
He followed that up with a goal in each of his last three games, scoring in the two wins against Hearts as well as the 5-0 thrashing of Dundee.
