Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths failed to appear in court today in connection with a speeding charge.
As reported by the Daily Record, Griffiths was told to appear for an Intermediate Diet hearing today but solicitor, Victoria Good, acting on behalf of the Scottish international’s lawyers, offered apologies for Griffiths’ non-appearance, and said there had been “a mix-up in the dates” which had resulted in him missing the hearing.
This comes after the 28-year-old failed to attend Edinburgh’s Justice of the Peace Court back in September. At that time, a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf and he was told to attend the Intermediate Diet hearing today.
The Celtic striker is alleged to have been caught driving his car at 54 mph in a 40 mph zone on the A90 back in January.
Victoria Good confirmed that the Scotland striker maintained his not guilty plea.
