Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham is set to withdraw from the France U21 squad due to a thigh injury, according to a report in the print version of L’Equipe.

Ntcham has missed Celtic’s last for games, against Dundee, Hearts, RB Leipzig and Livingston, but he was still named in the Frace U21 squad.

However, French U21 coach Sylvain Ripoll was hopeful that Ntcham would be back fit and available for his side’s upcoming matches against Spain and Croatia, but it looks like that hope will be short-lived.

Ntcham has been out since he injured his hamstring during the Scottish League Cup semi-final against Hearts and he’ll now be given a chance to get fully healthy for Celtic’s upcoming games.

The former Manchester City midfielder recently signed a new contract with the Celtic which will see him remain at Parkhead until 2022, and he’ll be doing all he can to be ready to face Hamilton in a couple of weeks’ time.
