Scotland are set to play Albania and Israel in the next few days and Tierney was in the squad, but has now had to back out due to injury.
There is no official word on what injury he has sustained, with Celtic likely to offer an update on his situation in the coming days.
This will come as a concern to Brendan Rodgers, as Tierney is a massive part of his team at Celtic Park. The young defender is a consistent presence at left-back and made over 150 appearances for the club since coming through the academy set-up.
Tierney has been capped 12 times by Scotland. Liverpool’s Andy Robertson is currently the first-choice left-back for his country.
