Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has confirmed his desire to return to Sweden when he does eventually leave the Hoops.
Speaking about his future, as reported by the Daily Record, Lustig revealed his plans to return to his home country, but at the same time admitted he is not thinking about a Celtic exit anytime soon.
We will see. It (one-year option) is in my contract and it’s up to Celtic, so we will see what happens in a couple of weeks. I have always said that I love this club and I love Glasgow. I am 100 per cent sure that I am going to move back to Sweden one day, so we’ll see when it is going to happen.
I’m 32 in a couple of weeks, so we’ll have to see. I always want to play for Celtic, but I am going to quite happy anyway.

The player is out of contract at Celtic in the summer but the club does have an option to extend his deal a further year should they wish to.
Calls to replace the player from supporters have grown stronger in recent weeks with the right-back position believed to be one of Brendan Rodgers’ priorities over the next couple of transfer windows.
While he may no longer be a first-team regular going forward, there is still believed to be a role for Lustig to play at the club, with talks over a potential new deal set to take place.
