Craig Gordon has accepted Brendan Rodgers’ decision not to play him in Sunday’s Cup final.
Rodgers has used the competition to give game time to second-choice shot-stopper Scott Bain this season and the Celtic boss has confirmed the latter will start on Sunday.
Bain has made just one appearance in the league for Celtic this season and has found game time hard to come by since making his loan move permanent.
It is not uncommon for managers to have ‘cup goalkeepers’ but many are often left with a conundrum when they get to the final.

Managers have become known to revert to their strongest line-up once they realise a trophy is on the line, but Rodgers is doing nothing of the sort.
Speaking about the decision, as reported by the BB, Gordon reveals that he accepts the team selection and will do what is best for the team.
I would have loved to be out there but it’s the manager’s decision. He has given Scott every other round and he has decided to stick by him for this one. That is the way it goes. Sometimes managers do change for the final, and sometimes they don’t.
