Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he may have to consider dropping in-form Ryan Christie from the side soon, HITC reports.

Christie has enjoyed an unexpected season so far, having really shone for the Hoops this term.

The attacking midfielder has been arguably the best player in recent weeks for Rodgers’ side, though few were expecting him to make such an impact before the season began.

The 23-year-old Scotland international has been a regular for Rodgers’ side this season, though the boss is weary of over-playing the youngster and has revealed that he may need to be dropped from the side soon in order to gain a much-deserved rest.

He’s played so many games and you do think there might be a point where you need to take him out, but he’s just enjoying it so much and deserves a huge amount of credit for his talent and mentality.

In this run, he’s shown he is a top-class operator. He hasn’t just done it domestically in the league and finals, he’s also done it in Europe.

Ryan was outstanding against a top-class Leipzig team and his Scotland appearances have added to his confidence.

Despite Rodgers admitting that Christie is in need of a break his side’s next fixture comes in the Europa League against Red Bull Salzburg, a fixture for which it would be a hugely bold move to drop the youngster.
