Craig Gordon insists that any club would have to pay ‘crazy money’ if they wanted to sign Callum McGregor from Celtic.
Speaking about the midfielder’s future following reports of interest from Bournemouth, as reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic keeper backed McGregor to stay put.
You can see the ones who have gone from Celtic into the Premier League in recent years have gone on to do really well. I have no doubt Callum is in that bracket in terms of quality. He could play for a number of teams all across Europe.
How much? I don’t know, it is crazy money now. Certainly in terms of goals and how important he is to this team, it would be very difficult to put a price on it. It would have to be a very big price for someone to come in and prise him away because of the importance he has to the team.
McGregor has been a consistent figure in Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic teams during his time at the club and his performances have not been going unnoticed.
While he is has impressed in the final third, the midfielder has also earned admirers following his performances in a deeper role in recent weeks.
The Scottish international has been forced to fill the void left by the injured Scott Brown and he has impressed while doing so.
McGregor has cemented himself as one of the key players in the Celtic squad and boasts a wealth of experience for a player who is just 25 years old.
