Brown set for crucial 24 hours as Australia offer looms

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is facing an important 24 hours that could go a long way to deciding his future at the club.

The Daily Record reports that Western Melbourne will learn their fate in the coming hours as they look to secure a place in the A-League.

Western Melbourne have been heavily linked with a move to sign Brown and a place in the Australian top flight is believed to be key in their hopes of completing a deal.

Melbourne had been aiming to bring the Scottish midfielder in as their marquee signing.

Brown has a contract extension offer on the table after lengthy talks with those behind the scenes at Parkhead, but a move away from the club is still not being ruled out.

Celtic fans were given a glimpse of what a Hoops side without Brown could look like recently when the midfielder was out of the team for a prolonged period through injury.
