A thriller at the Pittodrie Stadium saw Celtic prevail 4-3 winners in their Scottish Premier League clash with Aberdeen.
Late drama saw four goals in the final ten minutes of the game, but ultimately it was Brendan Rodgers’ side who would be smiling on Boxing Day after securing all three points.
Two of Aberdeen’s goals were gifted penalties, whilst Celtic owe much thanks to Scott Sinclair for scoring a hat-trick to help the Hoops maintain their position at the top of the table.
Edouard was the other Celtic player to get his name on the score sheet.
Celtic at times made life hard for themselves with an incredibly leggy looking defensive performance, particularly in the first-half.
But fortunately for Rodgers’ the high-tension and end-to-end game eventually saw his side record their fifth consecutive victory at the Pittodrie Stadium.
Here is how we rated the performances from each member of that winning Celtic side…
Craig Gordon - 5
Poor in possession and frequently gave the ball away to opposition players.
Mikael Lustig - 5
Gave away a penalty, though it did look to be harsh.
Dedryck Boyata - 5
A better second half than first half. Uncomfortable and sloppy on the ball in the opening 45 minutes.
Filip Benkovic - 7
One of the better players on the day for Celtic. Didn’t do much wrong.
Emilio Izaguirre - 4
Gave away a penalty and was replaced by Jonny Hayes at half-time.
James Forrest - 7
Struggled against a tight Aberdeen defence but cut open the opposition defence twice to provide two assists.
Tom Rogic - 8
Worked hard and ran the middle of the park for Celtic.
Scott Brown - 6
Another Celtic player who saw a lot of the ball and eventually began to break down the rigid Aberdeen defence.
Callum McGregor - 6
Got the opening assist of the game but struggle to assert his dominance throughout.
Scott Sinclair - 9
Ryan Christie – 6
Jonny Hayes – 7
Odsonne Eduoard – 8
