Turkish side Goztepe eyeing move for Izaguirre

Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre is attracting interest from Turkish side Goztepe, according to Fanatik.

Goztepe are keen to bring in the Celtic defender, who has failed to break into the team on a regular basis since re-joining the club.

The Turkish side are looking to add as many as three players during the January transfer window and Izaguirre is one of the club’s targets.

Izaguirre re-joined Celtic over the summer to provide competition for Kieran Tierney, who had been largely unrivalled at left-back since his emergence under Brendan Rodgers.

Despite the lack of regular game time for the experienced defender, the Hoops may be wary about letting him leave in January following the concerns over Keiren Tierney’s fitness throughout the Christmas period.

Izaguirre was signed to provide back-up to Tierney but has been less than impressive when he has enjoyed runs in the side, which could suggest that his immediate future may lie elsewhere.
