Celtic are reportedly interested in Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne and according to the player’s agent, the Belgian international is open to making a transfer this month.
Swansea City and Celtic have been linked with moves for the 23-year-old, but they aren’t the only clubs interested in the right-back.
As reported by Wales Online, Castagne’s representative Ulisse Savini admitted that his client is “seriously considering” making a move during the January transfer window and said that there are other Serie A clubs interested in him.
Fiorentina and Lazio follow him. They’re looking for a player of his characteristics. We’re evaluating a team change in January, but Atalanta asks for €6miliion. We’ll see what happens.
Swansea seem to be out of the running for the Belgian as they want to take him on loan with a view to a permanent deal, but Atalanta will only consider an immediate sale.
If the asking price is set at €6million, then Celtic could be priced out but in 2019, in order to get a quality international player, they will need to stump up the cash at some point, it remains to be seen if they’re willing to do that for Castagne
