Celtic are expected to finalise a deal for their newest signing, Andrew Gutman, within the next 24 hours, according to the Daily Record.Â
The left-back refused a permanent deal with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, and will instead make the move to European football.
Aged 22, Gutman has spent the last two years playing for the Indiana Hoosiers’ soccer team and has been showered with numerous awards proclaiming him to be the best college soccer players in the United States.

The Illinois-native won the boringly named Hermann Trophy (previously won by Brad Friedel and Alexi Lalas), and the absolutely fantastically named TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Year Award.
At 6 feet tall, Brendan Rodgers may experiment with his new defender in the centre of the back four, perhaps as a potential new partner to Dedryck Boyata.
Otherwise, Gutman can expect to spend his time deputising Hoops stalwart Kieran Tierney, who has struggled with injury problems this season.
