Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Dedryck Boyata will see out the season with Celtic.
As reported by the Daily Record, Rodgers confirmed that the Hoops are not looking to sell the player during the January transfer window.
Speaking about the player’s situation, Rodgers confirmed that the club are taking a relaxed stance on the situation.
He will just stay calm and see out the season and see where he’s at. There will be interest in him, of course, but nothing concrete at the moment.
Does it suit us if he stays? Yeah. It’s something we would want, of course. He’s a very, very good player. He’s entitled, he’s within his rights in the last year of his contract. He’s at an age where he can wait and see whether it’s a new contract at Celtic or a move. It’s a big next contract for him.
Boyata is entering the final months of his contract and the January window will present the final opportunity for the club to cash in on him.

However, that does not appear likely and the Belgian now looks set to leave on a free at the end of the season if he does not renew his contract.
A host of clubs, including Lazio and Fulham, were keen to sign the player over the summer, but Celtic were refusing to sell the defender after he impressed at the World Cup in Russia.
