Celtic not interest in deal to sign Micah Richards

Celtic are not interested in a deal to sign Micah Richards from Aston Villa this month.

The Daily Record have squashed rumours linking the former England international with a move to Scotland.

Claims made on social media earlier this week suggested that the player could be on his way to Parkhead, but the Daily Record claims there is ‘no chance’ of a deal happening.

Richards has seen his career stall while at Aston Villa, with the defender struggling with injuries and a lack of fitness as a result of his limited playing time.

Injuries have seen the former Manchester City defender fall by the wayside at Villa Park, with a huge contract making it difficult for the Championship side to offload him.

Richards’ current deal expires at the end of the season and he looks set to leave Villa after four years at the club.

After being dubbed as the next big thing during his younger days, he’ll be hoping he can get his career back on track with his next move, wherever that may be.
