Celtic midfielder Scott Allan has signed a pre-contract agreement with Hibernian.

Sky Sports News report that the player has agreed a three-year deal with Neil Lennon’s side and will join up with his new team at the end of the season.

The news follows claims made by Brendan Rodgers, who confirmed there has been interest in Allan this month.

Hibs have been among the clubs heavily linked with a deal for Allan and speaking about the player’s return, Neil Lennon could not hide his delight at getting a deal over the line.

It’s no secret that Scott is a player I admire and wanted back at Hibernian. He’s a player who suits the attacking brand of football we like to play. The type that gets supporters off their seats. We’re looking forward to having him back.

Allan was widely expected to leave Celtic this month, but it remains to be seen what the rest of the season has in store for the player.

The 27-year-old has not featured for the Hoops this season but could be kept at the club in case of any injuries later down the line.
