Ayr United striker Lawrence Shankland has played down talk of an imminent move to Celtic.
As reported by the Scotsman, Shankland told Clyde 1’s SuperScoreboard that he is in no rush to make a decision about his future.
I’m just putting it to the back of my mind. My main priority just now is getting fit and getting back playing. It’s nice to have the speculation, people taling about you here and there but it’s nothing that I get too caught up with.
His goal record in the Scottish Championship has seen Shankland rise to prominence this season and his performances are not going unnoticed.
Celtic, Hibs and Rangers are all believed to be keen on signing the player, while Swansea have also expressed an interest in the past.
Shankland was linked with a move to Celtic when it became known that the club were looking to sign a striker this month.
Doubts may now be raised about a January move to Parkhead following the deals to sign Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Timothy Weah on loan.
With the latter only at the club until the end of the season from Paris Saint-Germain, Celtic could re-evaluate their striker situation next summer.
