Rodgers coy over McTominay links
Brendan Rodgers was coy when discussing speculation linking Celtic with a loan move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
It was reported on Wednesday that the Hoops had established an interest in recruiting the youngster on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.
McTominay has struggled to force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans at Old Trafford following the Norwegian’s arrival and could be on his way out of the club on a temporary basis.
Rodgers spoke to the media on Thursday but, as quoted by Sky Sports, gave little away when quizzed about the recent rumours regarding the United man. He said:
There’s lots of speculation around players, so I wouldn’t comment. He’s a very good young player. When he broke into the team at Manchester United, I think he showed that. He’s a fantastic talent, but there’s nothing more to say.
Would McTominay be a good signing for Celtic?
Yes
No
The Northern Irishman appears to be well aware of what McTominay has to offer but at this stage, it seems any potential deal is some way from being tied up.
Celtic have plenty of options in the centre of midfield but it is reported by Sky Sports that Scott Allan could be on his way out of the club during the January transfer window.
