Brendan Rodgers weighs in on ‘Spygate’ row
Brendan Rodgers is the latest manager to give his thoughts on the ‘Spygate’ row that has dominated football over the past week.
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has admitted to spying on all of his side’s Championship opponents’ training sessions this season, in order to gain a tactical edge.
While many have lauded Bielsa’s honesty about the situation, others have been left angry by his behaviour, with some even calling for him to be sacked.
Rodgers is not one of those, however, seeing the funny side of things rather than take it too seriously.
When asked by reporters about ‘Spygate’, the Celtic manager laughed it off, saying not even the Hoops are safe at their remote Lennoxtown training ground:
There have been a couple of drones spotted and I’ve seen a couple of guys walking their dogs.
Is there a vantage point from the castle? Not with our snipers positioned up there!
It is a debate that is sure to rumble on as the season progresses, as is the norm in the modern game.
Rodgers’ approach to the situation has been refreshing, though, with his laid-back response suggesting he isn’t too stressed about Celtic’s bid to complete the ‘treble treble’ this season.
