Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping that a decision over Scott Brown’s future can be made ‘fairly soon’, with Australian A-League outfit Western Melbourne confident of securing the club captain’s services, the Sunday Post report.
Brown, who joined Celtic for £4.4 million back in 2007 from fellow Scottish outfit Hibernian, has made over 450 appearances for the Hoops, finding the back of the net on 33 occasions.

During his 12-year stay, Brown has won 17 major honours, however, his time at Celtic Park may well be ending after interest from Australia.
The A-League side are reportedly extremely confident in landing Brown, who has made himself a club legend during his time with Celtic.
Despite the transfer speculation, the 33-year-old did start for the Hoops on Saturday against Airdrie and was replaced by Nir Bitton with nine minutes remaining in the 3-0 win.
And talking after the game, boss Rodgers revealed he has had a lengthy discussion with Brown in the week and is hopeful of receiving a decision in the near future.
I had a long chat with Scott in the week, which obviously remains private.
I think he knows that, at some point fairly soon, he’ll have to make a decision, and he wants to make a decision, to be fair.
There has been a lot going on for him. It is important for him in his football life that he finds that stability.
Of course he loves it here, and has been here for a long time.
And we’ve given him time, as a club, to make the best decision for him and his family.
I would think in the near future he will have a decision either way.
